South by Southeast was developed after an extensive visioning series to find out what southeast Denver residents wanted to see in the district. Community members expressed a strong desire for improved restaurants and retail, walkability and bikeability, and a community gathering place. While the city continues to work to create this grand vision for the area, planning and development can take a very long time. So, City Council District 4 put together a one-day community festival to showcase all the possibilities and opportunities available in southeast Denver.
