CCHI Community Health Voices Conference
Monica will join the Colorado Consumer Health Initiative (CCHI) Community Voice Conference to listen and learn.
The event is hosted by one of Monica’s favorite advocacy groups: CCHI. Join CCHI for our annual Community Voices Conference (CVC), a space for community members to learn about and practice storytelling as a means for personal, social and political change.
This year’s theme: Courage to Speak, Power to Stay. In a moment when the ground feels like it’s shifting beneath us, CVC is about finding the courage to tell your story anyway, and using that story to stay rooted, connected, and ready to act in your community.
The conference will feature a keynote speaker, small‑group workshops on advocacy and storytelling, a panel discussion, and dedicated time for lunch and networking.
While we appreciate the continued support from our partner advocacy organizations, we ask that no more than two members from other advocacy organizations attend to preserve the intention of this conference as a space primarily for community members.

Taco Bell 50k (yes, 50k)
Did you know Denver hosts a Taco Bell 50k?!
It has been described as Urban Legend. More mysterious and barking spiders than the Barkley Marathons. The International Taco Bell 50k boasts a higher DNF rate than the famed Leadville 100 Trail Race. The race has been held annually in Denver, Colorado in early October, which coincidentally coincides with International Taco Day.
The event is volunteer run and all donations go to the Achilles Heel Foundation which supports runners who are injured.
To be clear: Monica is NOT running the Taco Bell 50k. She enjoys being an yearly fan from the safety of her front yard.
You have several options to celebrate International Taco Day and the Taco Bell 50k in District 9:
1. You, yes you, can register to run. Gastric training advised. https://tacobell50k.com/
2. Support the runners at our two Taco Bell locations along the route in District 9. One is at 7150 Leetsdale Drive, and the other is in Holly Hills at 6460 E Yale Ave.
3. If you live along the route, go outside and cheer for these wacky runners. If you do not live on the route, you are welcome to message Monica and join the crew in her front yard.

Every year, Monica looks forward to joining One Colorado’s Prism Awards.
The Prism Awards is One Colorado’s annual gala to honor individuals and organizations who have made a substantive difference in the lives of LGBTQIA+ Coloradans and their families.
Join hundreds of LGBTQIA+ Coloradans, allies, community leaders, and supporters for an unforgettable evening celebrating the people and organizations making a difference across our state.
The evening begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by the Prism Awards ceremony with inspiring honorees and special guests, dessert, and an opportunity to invest in a future where every LGBTQIA+ Coloradan can thrive.

Athletes Protecting Youth Sports (No on 134 and 135)
Calling all athletes and sports fans!
Join us to knock doors and have real conversations with House District 9 voters about Propositions 134 and 135.
No experience needed, we'll pair you with a trained canvasser and walk you through everything.
These measures sound reasonable on the surface, but they go much further than most voters realize. We're here to help voters see the real consequences for all kids, not just some.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle. We'll have scripts, walk packets, and support on-site.

CANCELLED - South by Southeast Summer Series at Eisenhower Park
Due to the weather forecast, the Jazz Band performance at Mamie D. Eisenhower park within the South by Southeast Summer Series is CANCELLED.
South by Southeast was developed after an extensive visioning series to find out what southeast Denver residents wanted to see in the district. Community members expressed a strong desire for improved restaurants and retail, walkability and bikeability, and a community gathering place. While the city continues to work to create this grand vision for the area, planning and development can take a very long time. So, these festivals showcase the possibilities and opportunities available in southeast Denver.
Denver Democrats Central Committee Meeting
The Democratic Party of Denver Central Committee meets multiple times throughout the year. This meeting is in-person only. All members of the Central Committee are required to attend or delegate their vote to a proxy.
Members of the public are welcome to attend, but cannot participate in any of the proceedings.
At this meeting, the Denver Democrats will vote on a number of items including whether to adopt an oppose or support stance on Denver ballot initiatives.

Frontline Farm Volunteer Day at Celebration Garden
Every Thursday is volunteer day at Frontline Farm’s Celebration Garden in southeast Denver. Monica will be volunteering this day, but you are welcome to sign up for any and all Thursdays.

Come party with the Living With Harmony peeps as we celebrate our community at our PLANET-Based Party in Denver with the co-founders, Andrea Rose and JP.

Father’s Day Family-Friendly Tailgate and Denver Onyx Home Game
Join Monica to tailgate for dads on Father’s Day during the Denver Onyx tailgate and home game. The Onyx are Colorado’s only professional rugby team and the reigning national champions.
This week’s tailgate is specially designed to be family-friendly and to celebrate dad. We’ll have bubbles, sidewalk chalk, poster making, food, juice boxes and someone who’s NOT a dad manning the grill so he can relax and enjoy a sports day.
